《哲學學報》延續了其具有影響力的科學出版的悠久歷史，出版高質量的主題期刊，涵蓋物理、數學和工程科學領域當前重要和普遍感興趣的主題，由權威機構客座編輯，包括著名研究人員的新研究、評論和意見。每個問題的目的是創造一個原始的和權威的綜合，通常連接傳統學科，展示當前的發展，并為未來的研究、應用和政策決策提供基礎。這些問題要么是基于國際知名的英國皇家學會(Royal Society)的討論會議，要么是雜志委托或客座編輯提出的獨立主題。所有投稿均被邀請，雜志不接受未經邀請的獨立論文。所有文章都經過同行評審，并按照最高標準進行編輯。

Continuing its long history of influential scientific publishing, Philosophical Transactions A publishes high quality theme issues on topics of current importance and general interest within the physical, mathematical and engineering sciences, guest-edited by leading authorities and comprising new research, reviews and opinions from prominent researchers. Each issue aims to create an original and authoritative synthesis, often bridging traditional disciplines, which showcases current developments and provides a foundation for future research, applications and policy decisions.Issues are either based on the internationally acclaimed Royal Society Discussion Meetings or are stand-alone topics commissioned by the journal or proposed by the guest editors. All contributions are invited and the journal does not accept unsolicited stand-alone papers. All articles are peer reviewed and edited to the highest standards.
