該期刊的目的是提供一種手段，以便在國際基礎上就風工程的所有方面發表和交流信息，這些方面都包括在http://www.iawe.org/國際風工程協會的活動中。這些因素是：風力效應的社會和經濟影響；風力特性和結構、當地風力環境、風力負荷和結構反應、擴散、污染物擴散和物質運輸、風力對建筑物熱損失和通風的影響、風力對運輸系統的影響；風力發電的空氣動力學方面，以及風力效應的編纂。發表了關于這些主題的論文，介紹了全面測量、風洞模擬研究、計算或理論方法，以及關于風力工程實驗技術和儀器發展的論文。

The objective of the journal is to provide a means for the publication and interchange of information, on an international basis, on all those aspects of wind engineering that are included in the activities of the International Association for Wind Engineering http://www.iawe.org/. These are: social and economic impact of wind effects; wind characteristics and structure, local wind environments, wind loads and structural response, diffusion, pollutant dispersion and matter transport, wind effects on building heat loss and ventilation, wind effects on transport systems, aerodynamic aspects of wind energy generation, and codification of wind effects.Papers on these subjects describing full-scale measurements, wind-tunnel simulation studies, computational or theoretical methods are published, as well as papers dealing with the development of techniques and apparatus for wind engineering experiments.
