這本雜志讓從業人員了解神經外科麻醉學的最新進展，這些進展直接影響到當前的臨床實踐或將影響到未來的臨床實踐，包括新藥、新設備和新手術。每一期都有同行評審的文章，介紹主要臨床和實驗室研究項目的結果，以及詳細介紹使用少量患者進行的初步臨床調查和研究結果的臨床報告。還討論了相關的道德和生活質量問題。

This journal keeps practitioners abreast of advances in neurosurgical anesthesiology that directly impact on current clinical practice or will affect clinical practice in the future--including new drugs, new equipment, and new procedures. Each issue contains peer-reviewed articles presenting results of major clinical and laboratory research projects and clinical reports detailing the results of preliminary clinical investigations and studies using small numbers of patients. Pertinent ethical and quality of life issues are also addressed.
